Oddsmakers did not take long to set a betting line for Super Bowl XLIX which will feature the Patriots and Seahawks.
As the Patriots were up on the Colts in the AFC Championship Game, the betting line for the Super Bowl was set at Seattle -2.5 or -2 depending on the sportsbook. RJ Bell of Pregame.com also tells LBS that the line was available at Seattle -3 for extra juice at a few sports books.
The Patriots continued to break open their game with the Colts, leading to big money coming in on them for the Super Bowl. The line was quickly bet down to Seattle -1 or even a pick ’em at some places.
The Super Bowl is always the most bet sports event of the year, so we know this line will change plenty over the next two weeks prior to kickoff. Given the way the Patriots looked in the championship game and Richard Sherman’s injury, we wouldn’t be surprised if enough money came in on New England to make them favorites.
