Sure Enough, Someone Bought a Tim Tebow Billboard in Denver (Pictures)

You may recall two weeks ago when we passed along news that some fans in Denver were planning to purchase billboards aimed at convincing the Broncos to start Tim Tebow. The idea worked and Tebow ended up playing wide receiver in a recent game. Sure enough, someone actually went forward with the idea and purchased a billboard.

FOX 31 provides the background info on the billboards:

A company called One Swoosh is sponsoring a digital billboard at I-25 and 58th Ave.

The sign is the brainchild of Mohammad Suleiman, who works in a merchandise store in north Denver. He says he was fed up with Orton’s ineffectiveness near the goal line and decided to use his store’s electronic billboard to push for a switch to Tebow.

“It’s still early in the season to be frustrated, but I mean fans are asking for Tebow. Why not give us a little dose of him?” Suleiman says. “If we can be heard, if we can reach the Broncos staff and make some change, that would be great.”

“I think if he (Mohammad) can convince Coach Fox to make a change, then he’s a genius,” says Tariq Suleiman, Mohammad’s brother. “I don’t think John Fox is that stubborn. What more can we do as fans to show what’s needed?”

I used to think the idea was a waste of money, by my mentality has actually changed. If Kyle Orton continues to produce unimpressive results, and the fan clamor for Tebow continues, the Broncos may end up making a change. If the season ends up looking like it will be lost, what’s the worst that a change could do? I’m already convinced that Tebow would have played better than Orton during the rainy Monday night game against the Raiders, who’s to say he wouldn’t lead the team to more success? I believe he would.
