Teddy Bridgewater was a desirable backup quarterback this offseason, but he’s decided to return to the New Orleans Saints on a hefty deal.
Bridgewater is getting a one-year, $7.25 million deal from the Saints with a max value of $12.5 million in incentives, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
The quarterback tweeted about running it back with the Saints for another season.

The Dolphins were also pursuing Bridgewater, and he presumably would have had a shot to start for them. Instead, he’s chosen to remain with the Super Bowl-contending Saints, where he will be Drew Brees’ backup for another season. For the money they were offering, it’s not a bad decision.
