Teddy Bridgewater takes over for Vikings after Matt Cassel fractures foot
Teddy Bridgewater is the new starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings now that Matt Cassel will miss significant time with a broken foot.
The Vikings said Sunday that Cassel, who started the first three games of the season, has multiple fractures in his foot. Bridgewater came in to replace him against the New Orleans Saints and went 12-of-20 for 150 yards in a 20-9 loss. He also scrambled for 27 yards.
Bridgewater was not spectacular in the game, but he played well considering the situation. He avoided the rush on multiple plays and made things happen despite facing a lot of pressure in the pocket.
We’re not expecting big things from Bridgewater nor the Vikings this season, but it will be interesting seeing what he can do. We figure he’ll just be so-so.
