Terrell Suggs claimed by Chiefs

Terrell Suggs

Terrell Suggs is rumored to be interested in returning to the Baltimore Ravens after the Arizona Cardinals made the surprising decision to place him on waivers, but it is the Kansas City Chiefs who now hold the veteran pass-rusher’s rights.

The Chiefs claimed Suggs off waivers on Monday, according to multiple reports.

Now, the big question becomes whether or not Suggs will show up for work. A report from over the weekend claimed he only wants to play for the Ravens and will strongly consider not reporting to any other team that might claim him, so the Chiefs either spoke with him about that ahead of time or were willing to take the risk. They could also just be trying to keep him away from the Ravens, who may be their biggest competition in the AFC at the moment.

Suggs didn’t seem to want to leave the Ravens in free agency last year, but he ended up signing a two-year deal with Arizona. He has 5.5 sacks on the season and could certainly help a playoff team in passing down situations, and Kansas City may not want him helping a Ravens team that already looks like the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
