A group of passengers experienced a delay getting off of an airplane after it landed at Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday night, and they may have been stuck even longer if not for Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw.

Bradshaw was one of the passengers on a plane that arrived at Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday night from Texas. After the plane got to the gate, the flight crew was unable to open the exit door to let passengers off. The door was stuck for about 30 minutes before Bradshaw helped resolve the issue.

Selah Gamble, who was on the flight, told KDKA News that the pilot announced that a passenger had helped wrestle the door open. Gamble said it was obvious the passenger was Bradshaw.

“The pilot announced and you could kind of hear he was chuckling as he said it, but he said, ‘Thanks to the strength of one of our passengers, we were finally able to get the door open,’ and I think we all knew he was alluding to Mr. Bradshaw,” Gamble said.

Gamble said someone had suggested that Bradshaw should use his muscle to help open the door, and she cracked a joke about the four-time Super Bowl champion’s age.

“I mean honestly I was just ready to get off the flight, but the guy next to me had the joke that they should have (Bradshaw) bust down the door and I was like, well maybe he could a few years ago, so I’m definitely eating my words,” Gamble admitted.

Bradshaw is 76, but apparently he’s still got it. If he can help muscle open an airplane door, we have no reason to doubt that he can accomplish the recent career goal he set for himself.

The people of Pittsburgh already had a lot to thank Bradshaw for. They can now add getting them off of an airplane to the list.
