Report: Texans would have interest in Brock Osweiler
The Denver Broncos still don’t have an agreement with quarterback Brock Osweiler, who would become a free agent in just over a week. If that doesn’t change before March 9, Osweiler may have another suitor.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Houston Texans would have interest in Osweiler if the price is right.
La Canfora does note that the Broncos would like to get something done with Osweiler before he hits free agency, though they continue to wait for Peyton Manning to decide on his future. Whatever the case, Manning will not be getting the $19 million that would be owed to him if he returns.
Houston, meanwhile, is quite clearly looking for a quarterback. La Canfora reported that they are taking a long look at the draft for possible solutions. He also reports that they are not interested in trading for Colin Kaepernick, disputing a previous report, but that the team could be interested in Robert Griffin III once he is inevitably released.
Denver has reportedly been waiting to open talks with Osweiler out of respect for Manning, but with the clock starting to run down, the team may have no choice but to start talking if they want to retain the guy who is perceived to be their quarterback for the future.
