Tim Tebow subtly jabs Brady Quinn for constantly boasting about Notre Dame
Think Tim Tebow doesn’t talk some smack? Think again.
Many people were in disbelief when we posted a story about Tim Tebow talking trash to Charles Tillman last December. They tried to defend him and say he was above that.
Now we have direct confirmation that he does.
We posted over the weekend about a speech Tebow gave to the Gators Boosters last week where he called out the New York media for getting stories about him wrong. In the same speech, he also took a jab at Brady Quinn, his former teammate and backup quarterback with the Broncos.
“So many guys come up to me and say, ‘What’s it like to be at the University of Florida? What’s it like to be a Gator?’ The first thing I think of is, ‘Wouldn’t you like to know.’ … I had a teammate at Denver who played the same position as me and he went to the University of Notre Dame,” Tebow said, according to Gator Zone. “He would brag about his university, how great it was. Most of us in the locker room were like, ‘C’mon, we all had opportunities. We chose not to go there.’ … But he talked so much about his university that it became easy. I’d say, ‘Your whole team had one guy who ran under a 5.0 40 [yard dash]. Our kicker ran under 5.0.’ ”
That’s pretty strong stuff from Tebow. And you know what? There’s nothing wrong with a guy like Brady Quinn being proud of where he went to school. And Notre Dame’s most success recently came with him at quarterback. But it’s nice that a guy like Tebow and others were around to put him and Notre Dame in place considering the Irish haven’t done anything in the last five years.
