Tim Tebow traded to Jets for 4th, 6th-round pick

Get ready for some fireworks in the Big Apple — Tim Tebow has been traded to the Jets. Early Wednesday morning we shared a report from WKMG in Orlando saying Tebow was expected to be traded by Wednesday afternoon to either the Jets or Jags — likely for a third-round pick — and they were right. Shortly before 1:00 p.m. ET Wednesday, it was reported that Tebow was traded to the Jets for a 4th and 6th-round pick. They’re sending a 7th-round pick to Denver in return, according to The Denver Post.

One has to figure the Broncos’ win over the Jets on Thursday night football last season is a big reason New York was interested in acquiring the former Broncos quarterback. At the time, it was thought the Jets would put the unconventional quarterback in his place. Instead, Tebow led a touchdown drive on Denver’s final possession and shockingly beat the Jets 17-13.

The natural question will be if Tebow takes Mark Sanchez’s job. The Jets reached the AFC Championship Game in Sanchez’s first two seasons in the league, but they were carried by a stellar defense and excellent rushing game. Without either of those being as sharp last season, Sanchez’s weaknesses stood out more and the Jets missed the playoffs.

Get ready for the biggest quarterback controversy in the NFL. It’s going to be a fun season.
