Tim Tebow reportedly will be traded to Jets or Jaguars
Tim Tebow may be traded from the Denver Broncos quicker than Peyton Manning chose them.
WKMG in Orlando reports that Tebow is expected to be traded to the Jets or Jaguars by midday Wednesday. They say he is likely to be traded for a third-round pick and that his top priority is playing time, not being close to home.
A previous report said Tebow wanted to return to his hometown state of Florida. The Jags are his hometown team and new team owner Shahid Khan reportedly is involved in negotiations.
Both the Packers and Dolphins have been mentioned as other teams interested in Tebow, but Miami GM Jeff Ireland has denied interest.
Tebow going to Jacksonville would make plenty of sense; the Jags are coming off a bad season and could benefit from the fan excitement, ticket sales boost, and his winning ways. The Jets acquiring Tebow would create an entertaining mess. There would be an immediate quarterback controversy between Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez, Rex Ryan to lead it all, and the New York newspapers to cover every scenario. For our sake in the media business, I’m really hoping Tebow ends up with the Jets.
