Report: Titans have ‘kicked tires’ on four QBs not named Colin Kaepernick
The Tennessee Titans have explored the possibility of bringing in an additional veteran quarterback with Marcus Mariota battling a hamstring injury, but it does not sound like Colin Kaepernick will be receiving a call from the team.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Tuesday that the Titans have brought in quarterbacks for workouts and kicked the tires on some journeymen. However, there has been no indication that Kaepernick was among them.
Per source, Titans kicked tires on Brandon Weeden, Matt Barkley, Matt McGloin, T.J. Yates.

Mariota is a mobile quarterback, so people are naturally going to assume Kaepernick would be a good fit if the Titans needed someone who has starting experience. Though, it’s possible they are simply looking for an emergency quarterback and don’t expect Mariota to miss any time.
Anytime we have seen a starting quarterback go down since the preseason, Kaepernick’s name is always the first to come up. We have heard some strange reasons for why the 29-year-old has not been signed, and it doesn’t look like that is going to change in the near future.
