Titans likely to sign ex-Bears kicker Cody Parkey
The Tennessee Titans are turning to a new kicker to try to improve their special teams effort, and it’s a familiar name.
The Titans released Cairo Santos on Monday a day after he missed four field goals against the Buffalo Bills. To replace him, they’re bringing in former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey, as first reported by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The #Titans are flying in former #Bears K Cody Parkey tonight and he’s expected to sign tomorrow, per me and @TomPelissero. A new home for Parkey, who worked out for them in early September.

When we last saw Parkey in an NFL game, he missed a 43-yard try to cost the Bears a playoff game. He promptly fell out with the team in the aftermath of the kick, and it sparked something of an organizational crisis for the Bears. Parkey has made 83.9 percent of his career field goal tries, and the Titans will hope he can at least do better than Santos.
