As it turns out, Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley can do much more than just run the ball. He can also take out one of the best pass rushers in football.
With Clay Matthews rushing the quarterback during Sunday’s game, Gurley intervened, stood tall, and won the battle against Green Bay’s star linebacker. Not only did he win, but he all but bodyslammed Matthews to the ground.
Apparently Matthews is no match for Gurley, at least on this particular play. While the Rams did prepare for Matthews during the week, I’m guessing this is above and beyond the prep work. Perhaps Arkansas running back Alex Collins should take notes on proper pass protection technique, because Gurley seems to have it down.
