Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken decided to roll with Deshaun Watson as the starting quarterback, and fans have been questioning the move ever since.
On Tuesday, Monken was asked if he was bothered by the reaction from the fans, but the new Browns coach doesn’t seem to care.
“Absolutely not,” Monken said. “Would I prefer that we would all be on the same page? Yeah, but that has nothing to do with my decision, and it can never have anything to do with my decision.”
“My decision has got to be about what’s best for the Browns in Week 1 and all the way through the season, and as long as I’m the head coach here.”

The news broke on August 24 that Watson won the job over Shedeur Sanders. However, some have wondered if Watson will be given a short leash, especially with the way fans have reacted to the decision.
Fans showered Watson with boos during the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, so the decision to roll with Watson as the QB1 has certainly not gone over too well.
The browns open the regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
