He won’t be able to play a regular season game for a while, but the New England Patriots will reportedly still give Tom Brady a start in their final preseason game.
Brady will start the game, according to Tom E. Curran of CSN New England, with Jimmy Garoppolo sitting out entirely.
Brady will likely only play for a little bit, with third stringer Jacoby Brissett getting most of the duties after that.
It’s probably a bit of a risk to play Brady, even for a short period of time. The quarterback has already had one small injury scare this preseason. Still, though, he needs to remain fresh since he won’t be able to return until Week 5. This is the last chance New England will get to put him in an actual game until then. With that in mind, it does make sense.
