Tony Romo had a little fun with NFL fans on Thursday while calling the action in the Carolina Panthers-Philadelphia Eagles game.
Romo went into broadcasting after a back injury combined with Dak Prescott’s strong play caused him to lose the starting quarterback job for the Dallas Cowboys last season. Romo played in one game last season, going 3 of 4 with a touchdown pass in a Week 17 loss to the Eagles.
CBS decided to air video of that pass while televising the Eagles-Panthers game. Pay attention to Romo’s comment about it being his “last pass.”

Tony Romo's last pass of his career was against the Eagles … or was it? Hmmm … Tony Romo: "Was it the last pass?" pic.twitter.com/3kfsk62jxe

“Was it the last pass?” Romo playfully asked.
Jim Nantz then said, “don’t you dare!” to Romo, knowing full well that the QB was teasing a potential comeback.
In a season where Jay Cutler came out of retirement to sign with the Miami Dolphins, this is just another reminder that perhaps the best free agent quarterback is sitting in a CBS TV booth every week. Of course, as recently as this summer, Romo was giving a pretty firm answer about his playing future.
