Fans were baffled by the same thing after Trevor Lawrence’s injury
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor hobbled to the locker room with a lower leg injury Monday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Several fans were wondering the same thing while watching Lawrence struggle — where was the cart?
Lawrence went down with an apparent ankle injury during the third quarter of what was a tie game at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
Lawrence suffered the injury as the Jaguars were facing 3rd-and-11 from the Bengals’ 23. Jaguars left tackle appeared to step on Lawrence’s left ankle. The ankle got bent over even more as Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson tried to bring Lawrence down (video here).
The Jaguars’ franchise QB could not put weight on his injured leg. He had to be assisted by a security guard and a member of the team’s medical staff.

The somber scene matched the mood throughout the stadium. Fans and observers watching at home, however, called out the Jaguars for not getting a cart for their ailing QB.

Can we get a cart for Trevor Lawrence damn!

Put Lawrence on a cart. That shot of him hobbling through the tunnel is painful.

While carts are common for players with Achilles tendon and knee injuries, or broken bones, they are not used for sprained ankles — which is what Lawrence had. The fans didn’t know that at the time.
Lawrence exited the contest with 258 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Bengals won the battle of the backups after Lawrence went down.
Bengals QB Jake Browning had the game of his life in the 34-31 overtime win for Cincinnati. He went 32/37 for 354 yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed for a score.
The Jaguars were dealt just their second defeat over their last 9 games.
