Twitter reacts to Vikings kicker Daniel Carlson blowing game
Sunday was a bad day to be Daniel Carlson.
The kicker missed two field goals in overtime — and all three of his attempts in the game — including one that would have won the game. The final miss resulted in a 29-29 tie between his Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Carlson missed a 49-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime. That would have given the Vikings the lead but not ended the game. However, the 35-yard field goal he missed as time expired in overtime cost the team the game as that would have won it.
Twitter knew his job was in jeopardy immediately.
Someone give Dan Bailey a job.

So … the Vikings are on the market for a kicker, eh?

Blair Walsh was, like, good for a while before he fell apart. Carlson just skipped over that part and went straight to splitting my spine in half.

Raise your hand if you haven’t missed a kick that crushed the soul of your team today #NFL

Can we take a moment to acknowledge Minnesota’s garbage kicker?! Wow, Daniel Carlson 0/3 and a missed game-winning chip shot

Hope I can return the Daniel Carlson jersey I bought my son for his birthday today.

On top of Carlson costing the Vikings a win, Zane Gonzalez missed two extra points and two field goals to cost the Cleveland Browns. It was a bad week for kickers all around.
Maybe Mike Zimmer should not have settled with warning Carlson and should have made a move before the season.
