Tyrann Mathieu made a costly mistake in the Arizona Cardinals’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and he wasn’t about to hear criticism from the fans regarding the poor play.
Mathieu failed to make a tackle on Martavis Bryant, who caught a pass and impressively ran 88 yards for a touchdown to make it 25-13 Pittsburgh late in the fourth quarter, essentially putting the game out of reach. One fan on Twitter gave a perfectly reasonable criticism of Mathieu and the Cardinals on Twitter. After the game, the Honey Badger struck back with an emotional and charged response.

We get it that you’re upset and don’t want to hear negativity from fans after a loss, but you should know better than that, Mathieu. The fan’s criticism was not unwarranted and it certainly did not cross any inappropriate lines.

Don’t want fan criticism? Play better. But this sort of thing from Mathieu should not surprise us; he’s displayed much worse behavior on Twitter before.
