Tyreek Hill makes eye-opening comments after Dolphins’ season ends

Tyreek Hill’s time with the Miami Dolphins may be over.

Hill made some eye-opening comments after his team’s season came to an end with a 32-20 loss to the New York Jets in Week 18 on Sunday. Hill, who had just 2 catches for 20 yards in the defeat, seemed to say he wants out of Miami, though he did not make a definitive declaration.

“I’m opening the door. I’m out bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day I got to do what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there,” Hill said.

Hill did not play in the fourth quarter of the loss to the Jets. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said he was informed that Hill was unavailable.

Hill and his agent said that the wide receiver’s right wrist injury was a problem and the reason he sat out the fourth quarter. That’s the same wrist injury Hill has been playing through this season.

This was the worst statistical season of Hill’s career and the first time a team he’s been on did not make the playoffs. He is no doubt disappointed and upset, but whether things can be reconciled between him and the Dolphins remains to be seen.

The Dolphins went 8-9 this season and were 6-5 when Tua Tagovailoa played. They were 2-4 in games where Tagovailoa did not play. It’s not a big mystery: Miami is a playoff team with a healthy Tagovailoa, and a scrub team without him.
