Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill has had a slow first half of the season for a variety of reasons, and it sounds like his wrist injury is one of them.

Hill was listed as questionable leading up to Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams due to a wrist injury. Reports surfaced this week that the wide receiver initially suffered the injury during a joint practice with the Washington Commanders in training camp, so it is something Hill has been dealing with all season.

Shortly before kickoff of the Dolphins-Rams game, Hill told ESPN’s Lisa Salters that he has a torn ligament in his left wrist. Hill said the injury has lingered since the summer and was aggravated when he was handcuffed during a traffic stop ahead of Miami’s first game of the season.

Hill was handcuffed by police after being pulled over while driving to Hard Rock Stadium for the Dolphins’ Week 1 game. He had been speeding when he was stopped and gave officers a hard time, which resulted in the situation escalating. Hill and his representatives called for one of the officers involved to be fired, but Hill also admitted he wished he handled the situation differently.

Through eight games, Hill has just 34 catches for 446 yards and 1 touchdown. He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards last season. Hill has 10 receptions over the last two games with Tua Tagovailoa back in the fold, but the wrist ailment might be more of a problem than initially believed.
