Tyreek Hill trade rumors have once again surfaced after just one week of the NFL season, but for now, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver does not appear to be on anyone’s list of targets.
The Dolphins have not received any calls on Hill’s availability from other teams, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. For now, the organization has no plans to trade Hill, even if there was interest, as Schefter had already reported earlier in the week.
Even if the Dolphins were open to trading Hill, they might find it to be a difficult task. He is in the second season of a three-year, $90 million contract, and his recent production does not match his salary. To make matters more complicated, he is reportedly facing an NFL investigation over allegations made by his estranged wife.
Hill is currently enduring the worst stretch of his career. He only had four catches for 40 yards in Miami’s season-opening loss to Indianapolis, and failed to hit 1,000 yards last season. Hill’s lack of production is not all his fault, but he is certainly well aware of it.
The 31-year-old has long been regarded as one of the best big play threats in the league, but has not necessarily been on the same page as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and has faced extensive speculation about his future in Miami. If the Dolphins’ season goes south quickly, the team may change its stance on keeping him.
