Tyreek Hill names the team he wants to retire with

Tyreek Hill presumably has plenty of his NFL career left, but he already knows where he wants to end it.

In an appearance on the “Around the Bar” podcast, Hill said he wants to retire in Miami and stay with the Dolphins, though he admitted he knows the NFL is a business and things could change.

“I love Miami. I love every bit of it,” Hill said, via Adam Stites of DolphinsWire. “My wife loves it, my kids love it, my mom loves it. It’s just a beautiful city to live in, man. There’s so much stuff to do.

“I would like to retire in Miami, but we all know how the NFL is, how jobs go, and people getting promotions over here and — you know — we understand that. But Miami is a great city, man. I love the team I play on, love the guys in the locker room, love the head coach, love the GM. So that means sign me. I love all you guys so much, I want to stay in Miami forever, man. Keep me there.”

The Dolphins have to like what Hill has provided since they acquired him from the Kansas City Chiefs two years ago. Last year, he led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, and should remain the top option in Miami for another year.

The question is whether Miami feels as strongly about Hill as he does about them. There were some rumors that the team could target a potential long-term replacement for him in the NFL Draft, though they ultimately did not take a wide receiver until the sixth round. Hill’s contract, more than anything else, could be what jeopardizes his chances of retiring with the Dolphins.
