Jordan Addison appears to be in the clear after his recent arrest.
Florida state attorney Susan Lopez has decided to drop a misdemeanor trespassing charge against the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Addison, Kevin Seifert of ESPN reported on Thursday. The prosecution against Addison has thus been terminated with Lopez writing to the court in Hillsborough County, Fla. this week that Addison’s $500 bond should be released.
“We are thrilled we were able to bring the truth to light quickly,” Addison’s attorney Brian Pakett was quoted as saying in the wake of the development. “This poor young man’s name was being dragged through the mud over frivolous allegations and absolutely zero smoke or fire. He did nothing legally wrong and thankfully the state was diligent in realizing this as soon as they did.”
The 23-year-old former first-round pick Addison was arrested on Jan. 12 in Tampa, Fla. on a charge of trespass in occupied structure or conveyance. Details later emerged that Addison had allegedly caused a disturbance at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa.
Addison has struggled with legal trouble throughout much of his brief NFL career thus far. Most notably, Addison was arrested in 2024 on a DUI charge and ended up serving a three-game suspension from the NFL to begin the 2025 season as a result.
The ex-USC star Addison wound up appearing in 14 games for the Vikings this season, the third of his pro career. He caught 42 passes for 610 yards and three touchdowns as Minnesota went 9-8 overall and missed the playoffs.
