Von Miller will not report to Broncos’ offseason program
Von Miller will not report to the Denver Broncos’ offseason program over a concern about his contract.
9 News in Denver’s Mike Klis reports about the situation and says Miller talked with Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak this week to tell the coach he will not be reporting on Monday when the team begins its offseason program.
Miller received an exclusive franchise tag from the Broncos but has not yet signed his tender. He is hoping to work out a long-term deal with the team to his satisfaction, which would likely include terms that would make him the highest-paid defensive player in the game.
The exclusive franchise tag tender would be for just over $14 million for the season. Ndamukong Suh is the highest-paid defensive player at just over $19 million per season. The Broncos’ latest offer to Miller reportedly was for $18 million per season.
Miller recorded 16 sacks last season, including the five he posted in the playoffs. He is currently on “Dancing With the Stars.”
