Will Grier has been somewhat of a forgotten prospect with all of the talk surrounding Kyler Murray and some other quarterbacks heading into the NFL Draft, but the former West Virginia star could end up being taken earlier than many expect.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was told by an NFL scout that Grier “put on a show” at his Pro Day in Morgantown this week, and it would not be a surprise if he is a “riser” as the draft nears.
One NFL scout in Morgantown, W.V., just texted that QB Will Grier “put on a show” for NFL Teams in attendance and predicted he’s “a riser.” The WVU QB is expected to meet with at least 10 teams before the draft, including the Giants, Redskins, Chargers, Pats and Saints.

Grier posted monster numbers with the Mountaineers last season. His 3,864 yards and 37 touchdown passes both ranked in the top 10 in the nation, yet we have heard more talk about Murray, Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock. Most experts don’t think Grier will be taken in the first round, but that could change in a hurry depending on how early some of the other QBs are taken.
Grier was one of several top college players who chose to sit out his team’s bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft, and it appears his hard work is paying off.
