Phil Mickelson had a perfect quote about his interesting wardrobe choice on Thursday at The Players Championship.
Mickelson wore a long-sleeve button down shirt during his round despite the high temperatures at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. The shirt — an unconventional choice compared to the usual short-sleeve polo shirts — drew plenty of attention.
“Nobody does kind of slightly overweight middle-aged guy better than me — and this says exactly who I am,” Mickelson said of his shirt after his round.

Mickelson’s shirt is part of a sponsorship deal with Mizzen+Main. He’ll be wearing the “performance fabric dress shirt” regularly in tournament play.

This is more proof that if they pay you enough, people will wear just about anything. Just ask Jerry Seinfeld. Now if Phil would mix in these gloves with the shirt, he’d be all set.
