Rory McIlroy on Sunday blew his chance to win the US Open, and the memes were not kind to him.
McIlroy missed two very short putts over the final three holes to blow his chance at winning the event at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. He was so upset with himself that he left the clubhouse without talking with the media.
NBC, which broadcast the event, shared a shot of McIlroy inside a room after blowing the major. He looked as defeated as possible, which resulted in some memes.

The memes were not easy on him, but that’s part of the job. It’s glorious when you win and brutal when you choke as McIlroy did. He still has not won a major since 2014 but has finished second four times during that time.
