Derek Jeter and model Hannah Davis are not engaged, the New York Daily News is now reporting. On Thursday, the Daily News hyped up photos of Davis wearing a gigantic ring on her left ring finger, leading them to suspect that the Yankees shortstop had popped the question. A day later, they threw a bucket of cold water on their own report by clarifying that the ring is not an engagement ring.
The News reported in their Friday gossip confidential column that the ring was a gift from Davis’ mother. However, despite not being engaged, Davis reportedly is “smitten” with the 39-year-old infielder. Davis reportedly has met Jeter’s parents and sister and stays at his apartment whenever he has a home game. Davis apparently is rarely at home games because she is trying to keep their relationship private.
So, to recap: The Daily News tells everyone that Hannah Davis is wearing an engagement ring, then they say it’s not an engagement ring, but they say Davis is very into Jeter. Got it?
