The world is just a tiny bit sadder Wednesday as noted power couple Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff finalized their divorce.
According to TMZ, the former NHL player and the actress-musician are officially through, with Duff keeping the mansion in Beverly Hills and Comrie keeping his Bentley and Mercedes. The pair had a prenup, according to the Associated Press.
Comrie and Duff began dating in 2007 and were married in 2010. They have a three-year-old son, of whom the pair will receive joint custody.
Fear not. If you’re a fan of celebrity-athlete love affairs, particularly ones that involving hockey players, you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that, as far as we know, Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood are still going strong, just as they were when he saved her from a vicious chipmunk attack.
