Alex Ovechkin is full of confidence despite his team losing its last two playoff games.
The Washington Capitals lost Sunday to the New York Rangers in Game 6 4-3 to tie the series at three and force a Game 7. Game 7 will be played on Wednesday in New York, and Ovechkin thinks his team will win it.
“We’re going to come back and win the series,” Ovechkin told reporters after a 4-3 loss in Game 6 on Sunday night. “We’re going to play our game, and we’re going to come back and we’re going to play Montreal or Tampa.”
Ovechkin is so confident that he already talked about which team they will face in the next round.
Is that him getting ahead of himself, especially when he hasn’t scored in the last four games? Maybe, but we like the confidence. That’s how all teams should feel going into playoff games. And now the pressure is on him to back up the talk.
