Blues lose challenge on offside for Bruins goal to make it 3-0
The St. Louis Blues lost a challenge on the Boston Bruins’ third goal of the first period in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday, much to the surprise of many.
Sean Kuraly scored for the Bruins with 10 seconds left in the period to put Boston up 3-0. There was a question about whether or not Joakim Nordstrom was offside prior to setting up the goal. Most agreed he was offside.

The Blues challenged the goal but lost after officials determined he was onside. The review concluded Joel Edmundson had touched the puck back into the Blues’ zone, which is why it was not offside on Nordstrom.
The goal stood, giving the Bruins their 3-0 lead. Boston then opened the second period on the power play due to the bench minor penalty from the lost challenge. They scored on the power play to go up 4-0 in the game.
