Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk had some heated moments with Nazem Kadri last week that eventually led to the Maple Leafs star being suspended for the majority of the playoff series between the two teams, and some fans in Toronto felt DeBrusk was to blame for what happened.
Kadri was suspended for the final five games of the series for a brutal crosscheck to DeBrusk’s face. Kadri is a repeat offender who has been suspended multiple times during his NHL career, but DeBrusk said Thursday that that didn’t stop Maple Leafs fans from sending him and his family death threats.

DeBrusk wasn’t exactly innocent, as he also picked up a roughing penalty in the game and had a questionable leg-to-leg hit on Kadri. However, Kadri has a history and was not going to get the benefit of the doubt.
Even if fans in Toronto did feel DeBrusk was partially to blame, it goes without saying that sending a player and his family death threats is beyond idiotic.
