Bruins lose goal in Game 6 on replay review due to goalie interference

The Boston Bruins thought they had gotten off to a great start in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference second-round playoff series against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night, but a review changed their optimism.

Sean Kuraly scored a goal midway through the first period that looked to give Boston a 1-0 lead. However, Columbus challenged the goal believing there was interference with goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Replay showed that Joakim Nordstrom shoved Bobrovsky out of place, opening up the net for the Bruins.

The goal was overturned by the officials, which seemed like the right call. The significance of overturning the goal cannot be overstated. After all, we already know just what John Tortorella thinks about the importance of scoring first in a playoff game.

The Bruins hold a 3-2 series lead and are looking to eliminate the Blue Jackets.
