Caps coach Barry Trotz confident about new contract with team
Barry Trotz is confident that a deal will be reached between him and the Washington Capitals.
Trotz’s contract with the Caps is expiring, but coming off a Stanley Cup win, he expects to work something out with the team.
“I’m not thinking about it right now, for sure. We’ll talk. We’re going to enjoy this with the players. I love the players, I love D.C., my family loves it here. We’ll get something done,” Trotz said after the Caps’ parade on Tuesday, via 106.7 The Fan’s Chris Russell.
Trotz was on a four-year contract with the team. He took over for Adam Oates and reached the playoffs in all four years. The Caps won a franchise-best 55 and 56 regular season games under him before breaking through to win the Stanley Cup this season. Bringing him back should be an easy call.
