Jonathan Marchessault was the victim of a blindside hit from Tom Wilson during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night, and he’s confident the league will discipline Wilson accordingly.
During the third period of Vegas’ 6-4 win over the Washington Capitals, Wilson nailed Marchessault with a hit.

Wilson received a two-minute penalty for interference for the hit. He could be due for more discipline after the league reviews it. Marchessault certainly thinks so.
“I’m not the one who makes those decisions but I’m sure the league will take care of it,” Marchessault said after the game, via TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.
Wilson has a history of controversial hits. He had one against the Penguins and was suspended three games earlier this postseason. Perhaps another suspension is coming.
