The Los Angeles Kings were the last ones standing when the 2013-2014 NHL season ended, as they captured their second Stanley Cup in three years.
With training camps underway, 29 other teams are setting their sights on ending the upcoming season the way Los Angeles did this past June.
Understandably, Kings fans are excited for the new season and The Royal Half is among them. As he began unpacking the box that contained his season tickets, The Royal Half noticed an unexpected surprise.

The Kings included a vial of ice from June 13, 2014, the day the team defeated the New York Rangers 3-2 in double overtime of game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals to clinch the championship.

In his blog post, The Royal Half said he would hold on to the vial for the rest of his life. I can’t say I blame him, that’s pretty sweet.
The Kings play their first preseason game on September 22 and begin their title defense October 8 when the San Jose Sharks visit Staples Center.
