Brad Marchand is sticking with the Florida Panthers after he helped them win a Stanley Cup, and Matthew Tkachuk is as thrilled about that as anyone.
Marchand agreed to a new 6-year, $32 million deal with the Panthers on Monday, according to multiple reports. The 37-year-old had drawn interest from multiple teams, but Florida made an aggressive offer to him and showed they are committed to trying to win a third consecutive championship.
Shortly after the news of Marchand’s new contract surfaced, Tkachuk shared a photo on social media that showed him and Marchand bro’ing out in a pool.
Tkachuk was holding a vacation-style cocktail, and the two players looked like they were living the dream.

You can understand why Tkachuk is happy Marchand is sticking around. The Panthers acquired Marchand in a trade with the Boston Bruins in March, and the four-time All-Star made a huge impact.
Marchand had 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 playoff games with Florida. He also scored multiple game-winning goals.
The Panthers have won back-to-back Stanley Cups and been to the Stanley Cup Final three straight years. Marchand quickly became a perfect fit with the team, and he may have even discovered a secret weapon for them.
