Pictures: Paul Revere, George Washington Get Bruins Jersey Makeover
Tossing sports jerseys on statues is not a new concept, but the way the Bruins went about it is somewhat unique. When a team makes a run to the championship in any given sport, it’s common to see hats and jerseys all over local landmarks and statues in their respective cities. As you can see from the above pictures from WHDH.com, the statues around the Boston area were given customized jerseys with their names on the back. Even Paul Revere and George Washington are Bruins fans as Boston gets set to take on Vancouver in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals Wednesday night.
As someone who has seen both the Revere and Washington statues, I can tell you they’re pretty big. Those custom jerseys must have taken a few extra threads to make. I doubt they were quite in the Zdeno Chara range since he’s about 9 feet tall, but they were probably pretty close. Good luck to both Chad and LB in their playoff beard dream match-up.
