This is without question the worst hockey ‘fight’ of all time (Video)

When I first saw headlines for this video and read that people were calling it the worst hockey “fight” of all time, I was intrigued and had to see what it was all about. In this age of hyperbole, there’s no way it could be as bad as those people said, right? Well, turns out it was worse than anyone could imagine.

When you think of hockey fights, you think of dropped gloves, jerseys pulled over heads, haymakers traded, and blood spilled. Francis Lessard and Sebastien Laferriere of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey in Quebec showed us that’s not always the case.

These two dudes dropped gloves during a Feb. 24 game between the Cornwall River Kings and Sorel-Tracy HC Carvena and proceeded to go a full minute without even throwing a punch. Not one. They just stood there on their skates, fists up, motioning to the other to “come at me.” Even the referees tried to get them to engage, but they never even appeared to make contact with each other.

On the bright side, at least these two guys could have taken home the gold in couples’ figure skating with that performance. Sheesh. What an embarrassment.

Even Lessard was wondering what the heck was up:
