Always Dreaming won the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby, taking first in the race with a time of 2:03.59 at Churchill Downs.
Always Dreaming was the favorite entering the race and made good on that prognostication. Looking at Lee was second, followed by Battle of Midway and Classic Empire.
It’s the second Kentucky Derby win for trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez.
