Longtime NFL writer Don Banks dies in his sleep at 57
Veteran NFL writer Don Banks died in his sleep Sunday morning at the age of 57.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal, which recently hired Banks to cover the NFL, announced the news in an article published Sunday afternoon.
Banks was in Canton to cover the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions for the weekend. His first story for the Review-Journal was published on Sunday about what the Browns learned while being on “Hard Knocks.” Somewhat eerily, one of his last tweets was about the death of Raiders great Cliff Branch.
Talk about waking up feeling dangerous. Cliff Branch was dangerous every time he stepped on the football field. Here’s hoping he’s recognized next year in Canton in the expanded 20-man HOF class. https://t.co/aK9o6tIrAs
