PTI, Around the Horn Move to New HD Set for 3D TVs

Fans of ESPN’s afternoon talk shows Pardon the Interruption and Around the Horn were in for a welcome surprise when they tuned in on Monday. Both shows had changed up their looks and layouts. The shows announced they’re now in HD, but you can tell it’s actually more than that. The graphics were fuzzy and seemed to be made specifically for 3D TVs.

ESPN is actually leading the way in the 3D TV movement, broadcasting certain sporting events in that manner. Even though I’ve never seen anything broadcast on a 3D TV, I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. In fact, most viewers had supportive comments on twitter, though hardly any of them seemed to realize the 3D association, focusing mostly on the HD aspect. Here are some of the reviews from people on twitter:

PTI & Around The Horn got a new setup, can tell it is designed for the new 3D Tv’s,I aint on that level yet but It sure do look better in HD

PTI and Around The Horn look so weird now! I gotta get used to this.

Around The Horn and PTI are looking goood in the new HD studios.

Finally PTI and around the horn are in HD.

hate the new set. Did PTI just jump the shark?

Didn’t catch ATH but HD is fantastic for PTI. And yes, Wilbon. We do get HD in Canada.

Really like the new hd look of around the horn and pti! I’m trying to figure out what took them so long?

I feel like most people are missing what’s really going on, but nevertheless folks seem to be on board with the change. I’m sure if I had a pair of goggles I would be too.
