Scott Van Pelt fires back after Bill Simmons takes more shots at him

Bill Simmons has made a hobby out of ripping on ESPN since he left the network back in 2015, and Scott Van Pelt is one on-air personality that he seems to take aim at quite often. On Saturday night, Van Pelt appeared to have had enough.

The Seattle Seahawks were forced to go for two late in their loss to the Dallas Cowboys after kicker Sebastian Janikowski suffered an injury earlier in the game. They converted to cut the Dallas lead to 24-22 but were unable to recover the onside kick, and the Cowboys kneeled out the clock. The two-point conversion was quite significant in Las Vegas, as the Seahawks were 2.5- or 3-underdogs most places entering the game. They ended up covering the spread for a fluke reason.

When Simmons labeled Seattle’s cover the “greatest cover ever,” Van Pelt chimed in.

A fan then asked SVP why he was taking shots at Simmons.

Van Pelt is known to many as the resident sports gambling enthusiast at ESPN, and Simmons has tried to downplay that for whatever reason. Earlier this week, Simmons called Van Pelt “overrated” during one of his podcasts and took some more shots at him over his supposed lack of knowledge of sports betting.

This isn’t the first time Simmons has been ripped for taking a seemingly random jab at someone, and it won’t be the last.
