High school soccer announcer goes viral after being caught on hot mic

High school girl's soccer announcer Toby Moore caught on hot mic

A high school girls’ soccer announcer recently went viral on social media after his inappropriate comments were caught on a hot mic.

Announcer Toby Moore thought his mic was off during halftime of the third-place clash between Rose Hill and McPherson in the Kansas Class 4A-1A state championship tournament in Wichita, Kansas. The contest was aired on the NFHS Network.

Moore, who clearly thought he was off the air, began criticizing the players on both sides during halftime. He joked about wanting to commit self-harm due to how poor the play was on the field.

“My mind kind of flicked the ‘kill me now’ switch at about 30 minutes in,” said Moore. “If they are just going to keep kicking the damn ball out of bounds and missing passes all day, I might as well just go home. … I just want to do a header off the top of the press box. Unfortunately, it’s too low. It wouldn’t kill me.”

Moore and the other person in the booth later turned their attention to what they called a “bonus” at high school girl’s soccer games: the soccer moms.

“F–k yeah, baby,” replied Moore when his companion brought up soccer moms. “Up top, baby. The one that’s facing us? See if she can tear it the f–k off. I can’t see the legs, but I can feel the a– hit from here.”

You can listen to his full comments but beware that they contain profanity:

Moore has been barred from covering any KSHSAA games in the future, according to Awful Announcing.

McPherson scored the lone goal of the second half, beating Rose Hill 2-1.
