Ronda Rousey only a narrow favorite in Holly Holm rematch
Ronda Rousey is expected to be given a rematch against Holly Holm as soon as she wants one, and she won’t be nearly as much of a favorite this time around.
Las Vegas took a beating when Holm shocked the world by knocking Rousey out Saturday night. Not many people bet on Rousey at -2000 odds, but plenty took a chance on Holm as a 10-to-1 underdog. Odds have already been released for a rematch, and Rousey opened at -300.
According to RJ Bell of Pregame.com, Rousey was just a -160 favorite as of Sunday night. Not surprisingly, the early money has been backing Holm as an underdog.
If Holm’s manager bets on her to win again, he won’t stand to make quite as much as he did over the weekend. But those who watched the fight (video here) can understand why Rousey is not an overwhelming favorite for the rematch. Holm beat her in convincing fashion.
