Guests who put their belongings on extra hotel beds in Sochi will be billed
The stories about life in Sochi during the Winter Olympics continue to get better as the days pass. We have already heard about Russian officials walking around checking what Wi-Fi network writers are signed into and bathroom rules that involve not flushing toilet paper down the toilet. Now, we have another insane hotel rule involving empty beds.
Over the weekend, The Big Lead shared a copy of a letter that Sochi officials distributed to guests who are staying in hotels at the Olympics. If you are staying in a room with more than one bed, you are to use one bed only during your stay. Apparently you will be billed if you even lay your clothes out on the other bed before getting dressed.
And to those of you who think guests could get away with utilizing the second bed by simply making sure the sheets are tidy, don’t be so sure. If officials are watching people shower, who knows what else they can see.
