Saints WR Joe Morgan arrested for DUI after reportedly sleeping in his car
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan was arrested in Jefferson Parish over the weekend and charged with driving while under the influence, only he wasn’t really driving at the time. It’s probably fair to assume that he was operating a vehicle at some point before officers took him into custody, but Morgan was reportedly taking a nap at the time of his arrest.
According to The Times-Picayune, State Police booked Morgan after someone called in a report about a disabled vehicle on the side of the highway early Saturday morning. A responding trooper reportedly found Morgan sleeping behind the wheel of his car and asked him to step out. The officer said the 25-year-old receiver was swaying on his feet, smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and seemed intoxicated.
It gets worse. Not only was Morgan deemed to be intoxicated after failing a field sobriety test, he also does not have a valid driver’s license.
Passed out on the side of the highway and drunk without a license? That’s what I call a double whammy.
