The new Premier League season got underway this weekend, but perhaps the most jarring sight of the first set of matches was not a goal or a standout play.
Manchester City and Norway forward Erling Haaland debuted a new haircut on Sunday. Haaland is known for his long blonde locks, but he sheared them all off and debuted a buzz cut before Sunday’s matchup against Bournemouth.
New hair. New manager. New season.

Haaland went viral repeatedly during the FIFA World Cup over the summer. Much of it was down to his goal-scoring prowess, but his quirky personality also helped win over plenty of converts. Some of those American fans are probably devastated to see the hair disappear.
Ultimately, Haaland did not score on Sunday, though his team did manage a late 2-1 win over Bournemouth.
Haaland scored 38 total goals last season at club level and scored seven times for Norway during the World Cup.
