Landon Donovan explains why his hairstyle was so terrible
Landon Donovan went viral on Monday after he was shown on television with one of the wildest haircuts you will ever see, and we now have an explanation for it.
Donovan is doing color commentary for FOX’s coverage of the European Championship in Germany this summer. He briefly appeared on camera prior to Monday’s contest between France and Austria, and his hairstyle (if you want to call it that) stole the show.
The best way to describe Donovan’s hair is that it looked like someone slipped while using a pair of clippers on him. That’s not what was going on, however.
Mike Magee, one of Donovan’s former teammates with the LA Galaxy, texted Donovan to let the former U.S. men’s national team star know he had gone viral and should “prob fire your barber.” Donovan responded that he underwent a hair transplant procedure two weeks ago and was assured that area of his head would not be shown on camera.

That makes sense, but you have to wonder why Donovan felt so confident that the side of his head would not be shown on camera. Even when he was facing the camera straight on, the buzzed area became obvious the second he turned his head.
If those who mocked Donovan on social media knew the 42-year-old had a hair transplant, they probably would have gone easier … actually, never mind.
